Simple sugars hurt our health in more ways than one. Unlike complex sugars which can be found in dairy products, whole grains, nuts or fruits that are actually good for our health, simple sugars are detrimental to our health and are added to certain packaged products for the sole purpose of improving their tastes, appearance, and longevity.
Now we know what their purpose is, let’s look at how they are hidden and how much damage they can cause to our bodies.
The rate of added sugar consumption today is at an all-time high because most individuals simply don’t understand how they get there. Added sugars have been linked to degenerative heart diseases, liver failure, obesity and tooth decay. Try as we might to improve our diets and meet the basic nutritional requirements that are expected of us, somehow we still fall short because the enemy lurks within.
Sugar has been described as a “sweet poison” and rightly so because it does so much damage to our bodies; one teaspoon of sugar contains about 16 calories but no vitamins, minerals or phytochemicals. The WHO organization and the American Heart Association recommend we reduce our daily free sugar intake to less than 6 teaspoons per day. This is because they offer absolutely no nutritional benefits to us, but how can we possibly cut down our intake of free sugars effectively if we do not recognize the various forms sugars can take?
Here’s a great infographic that could really help you out; so next time you reach for a bottle of sweetened yogurt or a can of soda at the grocery store, you might want to take 1 minute to read the product information.
February 19,2017 was such a fun day for me and my entire family in the country. Avery, Texas is such a small town with only 482 population in it but it is way funner than living in the city because there’s so many things to do outdoors. One of the many things we can do while being far from the civilization is go fishing in a pond.
As determined as mommy to catch some fish, I successfully caught 3 catfish on that day, took me whole day to make it three. Mommy was my loud cheerer for catching my first one! I feel happy and fulfilled because you know fishing is hard work. You wait and wait for a long time and hope something will eat your bait.
If you’re reading this post, then congratulations on your pregnancy! Good news is you carry a miracle inside of you – a beautiful bundle of joy but the bad news is that you’re going to have to take it easy from now on. You need to get adequate rests so you do not hurt yourself during this period and stress the baby unnecessarily as pregnant women tend to lose their balance as they grow bigger. So no more abdominal crunches, shoveling in the garden, kickboxing or picking up heavy boxes, it’s time to take it easy now.
It’s common knowledge that pregnancy comes with a lot of aches and pains especially towards the lower back and feet; and as such, women would gladly welcome a dip in the sauna or hot tub. Experts say that’s not healthy for you or your baby as it could raise your body’s core temperature.
While we are on the subject of things to avoid you might want to include paint fumes, secondary smoke, caffeine (or try to keep this to under 300mg a day), aluminum, and alcohol. For foods, you should stay away from any uncooked seafood, unpasteurized milk, and raw eggs.
Do drink a lot of water during this period as expectant mothers tend to experience dehydration and constipation. Increase your intake of green vegetables and fruits as they are very rich in vitamins; stick to foods that are high in iron, protein, and calcium as they help with organ development in the fetus.

I have been religiously going to Sunday school for almost two years now. Mommy want me to follow the Catholic ways and be able to follow the sacraments they have. I almost quit and mommy keep encouraging me that I must continue because we are almost there.
She had me memorized the basic prayers which I did and also I had done my confession on January 19 of this year, it was a success and mommy couldn’t be prouder of me. It was easy, I tell you what. Undeniably though mommy was the one nervous for me but I did it. After confession, I did my penance. After this, we shall attend the first communion mass.
I hope mommy gets a day off her work so she can be there with me on this day. I am almost done with it. She said that I can stop going to Sunday school once this is all over. We shall see!

This is my 9th birthday cake. I am so into dinosaurs and so I thought it would be great to have a dinosaur on my birthday. Although it came two days later after my birthday, yet it made me happy. Dada bought it for me. Mommy has been busy working and I am glad dada heard me and bought me this one.
It is pink which is not really my favorite color but I have no complain. It is too pretty to be a cake. Two wishes on my birthday were granted, to go on skating and a dinosaur cake. I could not ask for more! I am very happy.
I thank God for another year added to my life. I can’t believe I turn 9 today, cheers to that! Since I received a lot of toys in Christmas, I did not ask much from mommy and dada. This time I just wished to be able to go in a skating rink and experience it myself.
So, yesterday, my entire family went to the Silver Wheel Skating rink and tried skating for the first time. At first me and my sister were holding on to the side rail for a couple minutes. After I got used to the wheels, I braved on skating around the rink for a few times and then to the center of the rink as minutes went by. I did enjoy it very much, got very sweaty and skate for over an hour.
If it wasn’t because of my sister whining and rushing us to go home, I could have enjoyed more of my stay there. Dada said that he will drive me again to the rink so I can skate some more, I don’t know when that is but I trust his words he will bring me back to the skating rink.
In all lighting you need, you can go any home improvement or home/business lighting superstores around the country and in your area. But one thing is for sure, nothing compares the quality of products, tons of selection and all your lighting needs that lighting.com has. You can check out their high bay lights from warehouse-lighting.com and you will be amazed to find what you are looking for on their site. High bay lights are typically used in areas over 40 feet in height, which makes this setup perfect for any large area, like a stadium or a music hall. Because they put off so much illumination, you won’t have to purchase as many of these lamps as you would a variety that was not made to illuminate such large areas.
This is me and Santa taken at Island Spa retreat in December 9. It is my second time attending a party at that place, thanks to mommy’s friend for hosting the party and inviting Santa over. This time it has a bit of change because Mrs. Claus came with Santa too and we did caroling, story-telling and enjoyed two games. Lots of candies I got and a free picture with Santa. I did not have a chance to tell him what I want for Christmas but I am getting some, I think.
It was a fun night not just for the kids but for adults as well. We only stayed for two hours though because mommy came straight from work that night and had to work early the following day. Over all, it was a blast and I enjoyed it, that’s for sure!
I used to watch American Idol a lot and most contestants who can sing well are from Tennessee! That is a fact. If you would search for it, a lot of musicians originally coming from TN. If I was one of them, I would be very proud to hail from that state especially when I have the talent to play the guitar and sing as well.
However, if you are just visiting Nashville and would like to know where the guitar center nashville is, search for it online or you may click on the link directly.
